Idea Contest Civic Innovation Platform!
12/28/2020 bis 03/31/2021 in Berlin (Germany)
Ideas can have different impetuses, such as the question as to how AI-based solutions can help to solve existing challenges in society. However, the opposite perspective can also generate exciting ideas: for what social questions can existing solutions be put to the most effective use? Or how can existing data pools help to completely reorganise things? Accordingly, project ideas can be highly diverse. Regardless of the angle from which an idea is developed, it is always worthwhile to illuminate it from other perspectives as well. The Civic Innovation Platform aims to contribute to enabling individual actors from a wide range of different fields to forge viable networks with one another and thus to work together.
Our idea contest rewards the best projects with funding in the amount of 20,000 euros.
What it's about
- With the idea contest organised by the Civic Innovation Platform, we are promoting artificial intelligence and networking project partners for the benefit of the common good.
- Twice anually, up to 15 project ideas are awarded prize money of 20,000 euros each. The funds are split into three instalments, payment of which is tied to certain conditions being met, such as participation in workshops or a presentation on the progress made thus far. The project ideas must be clearly related to the Ministry’s activities, e.g. the future of work, occupational safety and quality of work, vocational training and further education, and reintegration in the labour market as well as integration, inclusion, diversity and equal access.
- A wide range of different actors are invited to participate in the idea contest. This includes the developer side (developers, start-ups), the user side (municipal authorities, SMEs, administrative bodies) as well as parties who are directly or indirectly affected (trade unions, socio-political organisations/associations, private individuals). Cross-sector project partnerships are a prerequisite for participation.
