Welcome to the home for Africa's women entrepreneurs. We're all about women entrepreneurs celebrating success, exchanging stories, connecting and networking, learning from like-minded women, and inspiring and mentoring the next generation of women-led startups in Africa.

Lionesses of Africa was inspired by the realisation that, just as for lionesses in the prides that live and hunt on the plains of Africa, life is tough for women entrepreneurs in this part of the world. Each day, just as in the prides, these women entrepreneurs battle for recognition, they fight for their futures, they look to gain a share of voice above the noise, and they aim to do all this whilst maintaining personal and business relationships, raising families and creating homes. Lionesses of Africa aims to recognise all those women entrepreneurs in Africa who are an inspiration to us all, those who have made it to the top of their fields and who are shaking up their industries and business sectors.

Creative Hub Frankfurt

The Center of Creative Industries of the Frankfurt Economic Development focuses on strengthening the creative economy on location and on promoting the Creative Hub Frankfurt. We work very closely with the municipal offices and see ourselves as an on-site information and network node. In this sense we provide and support specialized communication platforms for creative industry businesses. We promote the professional exchange on a domestic as well as on an international level. Also we offer services designed to help creative industry professionals in improving their skills, as well as their business and knowledge-base. Overall we are able to act as your competent contact regarding all questions of site planning and the economic developments, but also regarding the setup of a business in Frankfurt.

Erasmus for young entrepreneurs

The European exchange programme for Entrepreneurs Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs is a cross-border exchange programme which gives new or aspiring entrepreneurs the chance to learn from experienced entrepreneurs running small businesses in other Participating Countries. The exchange of experience takes place during a stay with the experienced entrepreneur, which helps the new entrepreneur acquire the skills needed to run a small firm. The host benefits from fresh perspectives on his/her business and gets the opportunities to cooperate with foreign partners or learn about new markets.

Kompass – Center for Entrepreneurship, was established in 2000, as a public entity in the city of Frankfurt. Ever since its inception, Kompass has distinguished itself and gained wide recognition for its stepping up to the changing social and economic market conditions. This is evident in Kompass’ wide reach, from offering training and education for the unemployed, providing startup consultation to Frankfurt’s large migrant community, promoting entrepreneurship among seniors, to consulting economic development institutions on training interventions for entrepreneurship across the EU. Kompass is a staunch advocate of transparent local and regional linkages among all the key players and enablers of entrepreneurship and is an active and pivotal member of the ‘RheinMain Network.’ The network consists of more than two dozen local and regional institutions engaged in economic development at all levels of impact including political policy formulation, industry clusters, banks, universities, employee and employer associations, and chambers of commerce.
